INDIALAW LLP acted as Legal Counsel to State Bank of India in connection with the refinancing of the existing debt facilities of TANTRANSCO aggregating to approximately Rs5,326 Crores

We are pleased to share that INDIALAW acted as Legal Counsel to State Bank of India in connection with the refinancing of the existing debt facilities of Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO) aggregating to approximately ₹5,326 Crores (approx. USD 560 Million equivalent).

Structured in a phased manner, the transaction is expected to support the construction of new substations while enabling the maintenance, modernization and strengthening of existing transmission infrastructure, thereby contributing to the continued development of Tamil Nadu’s power sector to meet growing demand.

The deal was led by Shrishail Kittad, Senior Partner with support from Nim Dem Dorjee, Associate Partner and the team.

INDIALAW is grateful to SBI, TANTRANSCO and all stakeholders for their trust and collaboration in bringing this significant infrastructure financing transaction to fruition.
