On 2nd May 2025, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, through its Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), issued a significant notification prohibiting the import and transit of all goods originating in or exported from Pakistan. This measure, effective immediately, is a critical step taken under the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, specifically through the insertion of Paragraph 2.20A. The notification, numbered 06/2025-26, highlights the government’s commitment to safeguarding national security and public policy.
